Rachel & Jason's big day is fast approaching! I had so much fun creating this invitation suite for them – colour blocked, with an autumn feel on a textured stock, polished off with brown kraft envelopes. Congrats you two! Lovely photos courtesy of Sarah Nickerson.

I'm saying farewell to yet another busy wedding invitation season (phew) and am excited to share some of my favourites with you. What better than some beautiful photos of print work for this over-cast monday evening, am I right?
Bethany and Tim were married last month in Vancouver. Their wedding was elegant, yet simple. The styling was beautiful and the rooms were full of people who were truly rooting for a new and awesome marriage. There were touches of gold – but not too much – and many, many, giant pink peonies. Bethany and Tim – huge congrats. Thanks for letting me be a (little) part of your big day. Photos by The Nickersons. I couldn't let this fun little project fall through the cracks without sharing. With a family cat named "Mac" and a couple's signature home made red wine in mind, I had the pleasure of illustrating a custom wine label full of character, hand lettering, and a cat in glasses. It turned out lovely. How about a custom illustrated label for your wedding, party, or personal wine stash? Thanks to Sarah Nickerson for the awesome photos! PROCESSThe Indie I Do Wedding Show is approaching fast! Are you going to join us on January 25? We're pretty excited to talk to couples about wedding stationery, design and paper goods! We have two passes to the show to give away – yep, you won't even have to pay. All we ask is that you show us a little social media love. We'll be randomly choosing a winner on Friday, January 17. To enter, please:
1. Like us on Facebook: fb.com/kenglishcreative 2. Follow us on Instagram: @klajoy 3. Comment on this blog post or on the Facebook page and tell us why you'd like to attend the show. Easy as pie. Good luck! Get more details about the show at www.indieido.com This past September we got to be a little part of an awesome project. The Pop Up Wedding Project orchestrated 10 marriages over two days to couples looking for an alternative to the big, expensive, traditonal wedding. The planners coordinated with a number of local Vancouver vendors to produce a breathtaking decorated and styled venue, decadent food and florals, a ready to go officiant, all to be captured by a really talented photographer and videographer – all the couples needed to do was show up (pretty much). Tylor and I got crafty and made a wooden banner to be used in photos, and decor. Tylor cut and planned, I sanded and hand painted. We also made some hand lettered cake toppers and tent cards for the food. Here are some photos of the making process. Now, take some time to soak in some photos of the event gorgeously captured by Sarah Nickerson. Yeah, she knows what she's doing! Though our contributions were small, we were so honoured to be part of such an exciting and successful event! All the best to the newly married couples, and a massive thanks to the PUWP coordinators All & Sundry and The Nickersons. Bravo! Its December, and yes I'm writing this in a cozy sweater and slippers, but maybe these cheery floral invitations will cure your Monday blues!
Jacqui and Mark are having a soft, romantic wedding with vintage touches including an afternoon tea reception. The soft florals and delicate script of their invitations hint to their guests of a whimsical day to come full of love at the historic Kirlkland House. We perforated the card so the bottom portion of the invitation breaks off into the RSVP card. Clever, and practical! All the best with your upcoming wedding Jacqui and Mark! Jenn and Geoff are getting married! Its true, and its exciting. They are a couple who love the outdoors, and love to see the world. Their travels have introduced them to many friends who are coming from long and far to celebrate their Vancouver wedding with them. We created a postcard style save-the-date, complete with a world map outlining the many countries their guests will be travelling from. Pretty spiffy.
Happy wedding planning Jenn & Geoff! It was so much fun to work with these love birds to create their save-the-dates! With a classic hockey card in mind, we produced these pocket-sized cards with their favourite team to send to their friends and family. Thanks to K&K Photography for the lovely engagement shots we were able to use! All the best with your planning Rachel & Jason! This past Saturday we were fortunate to be part of My Dream Wedding Show, held at the picturesque Renaissance Vancouver Harbourside Hotel. Tylor, Deidra and I set up our very first wedding stationery booth and were eager to chat with brides (and grooms) about what their vision for invitations, save-the-dates, menus and everything paper looked like for their big day. We so enjoyed hearing engagement stories, and meeting so many awesome people. There were gorgeous wedding dresses, seriously great vendors (did anybody else try those goat cheese covered grapes rolled in pistachio dust? wow... thanks to The Butler Did it Catering), and a hilarious (and informative) session with Randy Fenoli.
To the guests, vendors and show coordinators – thanks for giving us a warm welcome and a very awesome first wedding show. A big congratulations to a lucky groom for winning the Whistler Adventure give-away! (We've sent the winner an email with more details) We have announced the winner of the invitation design give-away on our Facebook page – take a peek here! Thanks to Danielle Dobson for the great photos from the show! If you'd like to see more from the event, please browse her Facebook page here. |
